upgrading under-the-kitchen sink storage

Updated: Aug 21, 2021

At Neat Little Nest, we know that the real estate that lives under the kitchen sink can be a place of frustration with its limited and awkward layout, but it doesn't need to be. Taking a small amount of time to declutter + organize that area with some dedicated upgrades can do wonders to maximize and optimize that space.

I know first-hand the joy of having a well-organized under-the-kitchen sink. I know because I just recently managed an overhaul under my own kitchen sink. After I shared with you in one of last month's blogs about the DIY scrub cleanser, I got to thinking about how I might upgrade a couple of other pieces of my storage arsenal using Ball® Storage Latch Jars.

After pulling out everything and considering what might work well being organized differently, I decided that my dishwashing tabs and my metal scrubbers could find a home using Ball® Storage Latch Jars.

Their air-tight lid makes it perfect for keeping pests away from the products inside. I've learned the hard way that pests like to get into dishwashing tabs so I had been keeping them in the ugly airtight containers they had originally came in. Now they are safely stored away from pests and pets and kids and their display is so much more visually appealing.

Since my under-the-kitchen sink cabinet has a large garbage disposal, I was happy that the smaller Ball® Storage Latch Jars nestled perfectly underneath it. I was also thrilled that the larger size Ball® Storage Latch Jar holds a full package of my dishwashing tabs making it an easy transition from finishing an old package to opening a new one. With a few quick labels everything has a name and a tidy place to call home.

Along with my new additions my other cleaning staples include a homemade all-purpose cleaner made from Castile soap, a glass cleaner and a good scrub brush. I keep them all in a plastic and wood bucket that I love.

I hope this post inspires you to consider some under-the-kitchen sink decluttering + organization using Ball® Storage Latch Jars as they are both functional and flattering no matter what you are storing in them.
