HALLOWEEN MASON JARS

Saturday, October 4, 2013

I love these Halloween mason jars because they were so easy to make! So easy that my kids were able to help and we had them complete in no time at all. Below you will find a step-by-step guide on how to make these cute jars.

GATHER SUPPLIES

  • Mason jars

  • Paint

  • Sharpie Paint Markers

  • Ribbon

  • Crafter's Glue

  • Cardboard or newspaper

PREP THE AREA

Because of the way you'll paint the jars, it's important to lay down cardboard or newspaper in the area you will paint to catch spilling paint during the painting process.

PAINT THE JARS

The easiest way to get a smooth finish without brush marks is to just squeeze A LOT of paint into the bottom of the mason jar. Then, tip the mason jar over (this is the reason you'll want a nicely prepped area) and swirl it in your hand so the paint starts to drip down on the sides of the mason jar. Keep slowly turning and swirling the jar until all of the sides are covered.

Once the sides are all covered, just leave in on the newspaper to dry

DRAW ON THE FACE!

Using your Sharpie Paint Marker, you can either freehand draw on the face like I did or you can print our a template if you want it to be more exact.

GLUE ON RIBBON & ADMIRE YOUR WORK!

Cut ribbon to length and glue on with crafters glue and you're done!
